Socks Whitmore started as a lyricist and playwright specializing in all forms of musical theater, but their writing spans the map of creativity. In addition to writing the lyrics and book of We Are Here and Back to One: A Coming of Self Musical, and the libretto of the opera in development MARROW, they are a playwright, author, and cross-medium storyteller. Their works often feature themes of queerness, gender, and mental health — they’re especially interested in diverse narratives that have never been told before!
